Role OverviewA Mechanical Technical Office Engineer is responsible for supporting heavy equipment operations in construction projects through technical documentation, planning, and coordination. The role is mainly office-based and provides technical support to site and workshop teams by preparing reports, analyzing equipment performance, and ensuring all activities comply with project and safety requirements.The engineer plays a key role in tracking and presenting equipment-related operations to ensure safe, efficient, and well-documented project execution.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and manage technical documentation related to heavy equipment operations, including cranes, piling rigs, and lifting equipmentDevelop method statements, lifting plans, and risk assessments in compliance with project and safety standardsAnalyze project drawings and specifications to determine equipment requirements and operational feasibilityEnsure all heavy equipment activities comply with safety regulations, project standards, and operational requirementsSupport procurement activities by preparing technical specifications and reviewing vendor/subcontractor submissionsMonitor equipment performance and utilization, recommending improvements to reduce downtime and increase efficiencyAssist in project planning and scheduling by aligning equipment availability with construction timelinesCoordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure compliance with quality and safety standardsPrepare technical reports, submittals, and documentation for client approvals QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience1–5 years of experience in construction projects involving heavy equipment and piling worksRequired SkillsStrong knowledge of crane operations, load charts, and piling techniquesProficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management softwareExcellent communication and coordination skills between office and site teamsFamiliarity with safety regulations and mechanical engineering standardsStrong documentation, reporting, and analytical skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
