Through a global network of professional logistics partners, the company provides comprehensive logistics solutions and treats customers’ business interests as its own.Role Description The Ocean Import Section Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm Heliopolis, responsible for overseeing all ocean import activities and ensuring smooth, compliant, and cost-effective operations. This role manages the end-to-end import process, including coordination with overseas agents, shipping lines, customs brokers, and local stakeholders to ensure timely arrival, clearance, and delivery of shipments. The Ocean Import Section Head will lead and mentor the import team, allocate workloads, monitor performance, and resolve operational issues while maintaining high standards of customer service. Daily tasks include reviewing and approving documentation, tracking shipments, managing exceptions, optimizing routes and costs, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. The role also involves close collaboration with sales, finance, and operations teams to support business growth, prepare reports, and contribute to process improvements.QualificationsStrong expertise in Supply Chain Management and Operations Management, with experience in ocean import processes, documentation, and international trade regulations.Proficiency in Procurement and cost optimization, including negotiating with carriers, agents, and service providers to achieve competitive rates and reliable service levels.Demonstrated Team Leadership capabilities, including supervising, coaching, and developing teams in a fast-paced logistics or freight forwarding environment.Excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to manage client expectations, handle escalations, and build long-term, trust-based relationships.Solid knowledge of freight forwarding practices, INCOTERMS, customs procedures, and relevant import/export compliance requirements.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines.Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.Proficiency with logistics and freight forwarding software, shipment tracking tools, and MS Office applications.Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
