Day-to-day tasks include interpreting medical conversations between healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring clarity and cultural appropriateness in both English and Italian. The role involves using specialized medical terminology, maintaining neutrality, and following established codes of ethics and privacy regulations. The interpreter will prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant medical information, support clear communication in diverse clinical settings, and collaborate with internal teams to continually improve service quality. The position may also include occasional written translation of short medical documents or patient information materials.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Medical Interpretation and Interpreting skills in English and Italian, with proven experience in clinical or healthcare settings.Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Medical Terminology and Simultaneous Interpretation techniques to support fast-paced medical interactions.Candidates should possess Translation skills for short medical texts or patient-facing materials as needed.Fluency in English and Italian (near-native or native level in both languages), with excellent listening and speaking abilities.Relevant interpreter certification, medical interpreter training, or a degree in languages, translation, or related field is preferred.Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, and compliance with healthcare privacy regulations.Strong cultural competence, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm and impartial in stressful or sensitive medical situations.Reliable high-speed internet connection, comfort with remote platforms and basic technical troubleshooting.Ability to work full-time with flexible scheduling, including potential evenings or weekends depending on client needs.
