Product Care Assistant Manager – R&D DepartmentReporting to: Product Care Manager Location: 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt (Factory Site)Role PurposeThe Product Care Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting product cost optimization, quality improvement, and manufacturing problem-solving across the product lifecycle. The role acts as a key interface between R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Product Line teams to ensure efficient product performance, cost competitiveness, and successful project ramp-up.Key ResponsibilitiesControl product cost through BOM modifications and engineering changes.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability.Plan, implement, and follow up on Design/Development Manufacturing (DM) efficiency improvements.Ensure execution of agreed action plans for product/process optimization.Plan and execute SCR (System/Cost/Quality Reliability) improvement initiatives.Monitor progress and ensure sustainable implementation of improvement actions.Lead and support cross-site initiatives for cost reduction and quality improvement.Share best practices and ensure alignment across factories/locations.Support factories in resolving daily production and manufacturing issues.Provide timely technical solutions to minimize production disruptions.Support new product introductions and ramp-up phases in manufacturing plants.Ensure smooth transition from development to mass production.Work closely with Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Line teams.Ensure alignment on technical changes, cost targets, and quality requirements.Participate in platform development and project team activities.Contribute to design decisions impacting cost and manufacturability.Capture and document lessons learned from production and field issues.Build structured knowledge-sharing cases to prevent issue recurrence.Provide technical support for product-related issues in the factory.Ensure quick resolution of engineering and production challenges.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).5–8 years of experience in R&D, Product Care, Manufacturing Engineering, or Quality.Strong experience in manufacturing environment (preferably home appliances or industrial products).Exposure to BOM management, cost optimization, and production support.Technical SkillsBOM management & cost engineeringManufacturing problem-solvingDesign for Manufacturing (DFM / DM efficiency)Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Why, FMEA)Product lifecycle & platform development understandingERP systems and engineering change processes
