Gamma International College is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic School Librarian to support the school’s academic mission by managing the library resources and promoting a culture of reading, research, and inquiry-based learning aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy.The School Librarian will be responsible for organizing and maintaining library services, supporting students and teachers with research and learning resources, and creating an engaging learning environment that encourages literacy and independent learning.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the daily operations of the school library efficiently and professionally.Organize, catalogue, and maintain books, digital resources, and instructional materials.Support students and teachers in accessing information and research resources.Promote reading habits and a love for literature among students.Collaborate with teachers to support classroom learning and IB units of inquiry.Assist students in developing research, information literacy, and referencing skills.Maintain accurate library records, inventories, and borrowing systems.Recommend and acquire new books and educational resources aligned with curriculum needs.Organize library activities, reading programs, book fairs, and literacy events.Ensure the library environment is welcoming, safe, organized, and student-friendly.Support the integration of technology and digital learning resources within the library.Participate in school meetings, events, and professional development activities. Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science, Information Management, Education, or a related field.Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a librarian, preferably in an international or IB school.Strong knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing processes.Understanding of IB philosophy and inquiry-based learning is an advantage.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and administrative abilities.Ability to support students of different age groups and learning needs.Excellent command of English language (spoken and written).Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology tools.Passion for reading, literacy development, and student learning.Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural environment.Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
