Senior Accountant – Power Sector ProjectAZOROM is seeking a Senior Accountant for an upcoming power sector consultancy assignment in Alexandria, Egypt.The project involves the upgrade of the Alexandria Regional Control Centre (ARCC), including SCADA/EMS systems, telecommunications, RTUs, fibre optic works, and associated control centre building/facility upgrades. The assignment will support the client through tender preparation, EPC procurement, construction supervision, and warranty-period support.Role overviewThe Senior Accountant will support the financial management, reporting, and audit-related requirements of the project. This will include assisting with project expenditure records, contractor payment documentation, disbursement requests, and financial reporting in line with client and financier requirements.Key responsibilities may include:Supporting financial management of project-related activitiesMaintaining accurate and auditable project expenditure recordsAssisting with the review of EPC Contractor invoicesSupporting the preparation and issuance of payment certificatesAssisting with disbursement requests to the project financierSupporting financial inputs to monthly, quarterly, annual, and completion reportsAssisting with financial audit requirements and providing documentation to auditors as neededSupporting the preparation of disbursement plans and financial tracking toolsCoordinating with the project team on budget, expenditure, and reporting mattersMinimum requirementsB.Sc. in Accounting or a closely related disciplineFluent EnglishAt least 8 years of relevant professional experience in accountingExperience supporting financial management, reporting, or audit processes on infrastructure, energy, utilities, or EPC projects would be an advantageExperience with internationally financed projects and donor/financier reporting requirements would be beneficialStrong working knowledge of Excel and financial documentation systems
