Senior AccountantSenior AccountantDepartment: FinanceLocation: [Cairo, Egypt]Reports to: Finance ManagerPurpose of the RoleTo ensure accurate and timely execution of accounting tasks, compliance with internal and external regulations, and support for financial reporting, tax, and audit processes. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the Finance Manager in daily operations.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger & Closing ActivitiesPrepare and post journal entries for accruals, provisions, and adjustments.Manage monthly and year-end closing procedures in line with IMCD Group timelines.Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and sub-ledgers.Accounts Payable & Receivable SupportMonitor vendor invoices, payment runs, and AP aging.Assist in customer reconciliations, collections, and AR monitoring.Support Customer Service and Commercial teams in resolving billing or collection issues.Banking & Treasury SupportProcess and record daily bank transactions and reconciliations.Assist with cash flow monitoring and monthly cash forecasting.Liaise with banks for documentation or issue resolution.Tax & CompliancePrepare and file VAT, withholding tax, and other local tax declarations.Support internal and external audit requests.Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and IMCD internal controls.Reporting & AnalysisAssist in preparation of financial reports and schedules for management and HQ.Perform variance and trend analysis when required.Support in budgeting and forecasting processes.Key Competencies and SkillsStrong knowledge of local accounting standards and IFRSAccuracy, reliability, and attention to detailGood working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting toolsStrong communication and teamwork skillsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CMA/CPA is a plus)4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multinational or distribution companyExperience with tax filing and statutory reporting in EgyptFamiliarity with internal controls and audit processes
