Senior Business Analyst – Digital Payments (Issuing & Acquiring)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of digital payment solutions across card issuing, merchant acquiring, payment gateways, and transaction processing platforms. The role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, operations, and technology teams to ensure business requirements are translated into scalable, compliant, and high-quality solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesGather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements from internal and external stakeholders.Lead requirement elicitation workshops, interviews, and solution discussions.Prepare high-quality Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), user stories, process flows, and use cases.Perform solution analysis and collaborate with solution architects and technical teams to design optimal business solutions.Analyze Change Requests (CRs), assess business impact, effort, dependencies, and implementation risks.Support end-to-end project lifecycle from initiation through production deployment.Work closely with product managers, applications team, developers, QA teams, operations, and vendors throughout solution delivery.Analyze payment transaction flows for card issuing, merchant acquiring, payment gateways, POS, ATM, e-commerce, and digital wallet solutions.Ensure proposed solutions comply with card scheme rules, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.Support API integration requirements involving payment switches, card management systems, host systems, and third-party platforms.Review functional designs to ensure alignment with business objectives.Participate in UAT planning, test case reviews, defect triage, and business validation.Provide production support for business issues and assist with root cause analysis.Maintain requirements traceability and ensure proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.Mentor junior business analysts and contribute to BA best practices.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.3–5+ years of Business Analysis experience.At least 2 years of experience in digital payments, card issuing, merchant acquiring, or payment processing.Strong understanding of payment ecosystems and transaction lifecycles.Experience preparing BRDs, FSDs, user stories, and process models.Knowledge of APIs, web services, and system integration concepts.Experience working in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall environments.Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.Preferred SkillsCard issuing and acquiring platformsPayment gateway integrationsISO 8583 message formatsEMV, contactless, QR paymentsTokenization and digital walletsMerchant onboarding and settlementJira, Confluence, Visio, Microsoft OfficeSQL, Python and data analysis (preferred)Key CompetenciesBusiness analysisSolution designRequirement elicitationStakeholder managementProblem solvingProcess improvementCommunication and presentationRisk analysisAttention to detail
