Department: Enabling Technology, Digital & Technology Platform Services.Location: Egypt, Cairo. The Senior Hybrid Cloud Automation Engineer ensures seamless integration between on-premises VMware and Microsoft Windows/Linux-based infrastructure and cloud technologies. The role focuses on reliable infrastructure management, automation-led deployment and server lifecycle management, robust backup and disaster recovery, licensing compliance, and cost optimization. To support business goals, role drives standardization, performance tuning, operational efficiency, and secure solutions aligned with compliance and security requirements. A key expectation is the ability to use Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management, and scripting tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Linux shell scripting to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and increase operational reliability across hybrid environments.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and Implement Hybrid Cloud Solutions: Collaborate with stakeholders to design hybrid cloud solutions that meet the business’s technical and operational needs, particularly leveraging VMware and Microsoft Windows & SQL Server technologies.Infrastructure Deployment & Server Management Automation: Deploy, configure, and manage Windows and Linux server environments across VMware, on-premises infrastructure using automation-first practices. Use tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash/Shell scripting, Azure native tools (Arc, Update Manager, Intune, etc.), and CI/CD pipelines to standardize server provisioning, configuration, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle management.Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security protocols that comply with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO). Ensure infrastructure security while keeping up with best practices and CCH requirements.License Management and Compliance: Proactively manage software licensing for VMware, Microsoft Windows, SQL or other DB technology, and Backup environments. Oversee compliance, ensuring renewals are handled efficiently, and work to optimize licensing costs through effective planning.Budgeting and Cost Optimization: Work with the finance and procurement teams to forecast and plan budgets related to hybrid cloud infrastructure. Provide cost estimates for projects and actively seek ways to optimize infrastructure costs, while maintaining performance.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams (DevOps, product, Cyber Security, Network) to ensure alignment in strategies and operations. Document and communicate technical designs, processes, and decisions effectively.Continuous Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the performance of hybrid cloud environments and identify areas for optimization. This includes ensuring SQL databases are running efficiently and the VMware infrastructure is optimized for workloads.Design and Implement Backup & DR Solutions: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions, primarily using technologies such as Veeam or other industry-standard tools. Ensure the backup strategy is aligned with the organization’s business continuity and data retention requirements.Backup Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor backup performance and success rates, troubleshoot issues, and optimize the backup processes to ensure minimal disruption and fast recovery times. Ensure data integrity and availability across hybrid environments.ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS?Automation for Infrastructure Deployment & Server Lifecycle Management: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field3+ years of strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible for repeatable infrastructure deployment and configuration management.Ability to automate Windows Server and Linux Server administration using PowerShell, Bash/Shell scripting, and relevant management tools.Experience automating server provisioning, patching, configuration baselines, monitoring agents, backup agents, and compliance remediation.Ability to integrate automation with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms where applicable.Hybrid Cloud Architecture & IntegrationExpertise in VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, and Azure tools integration.Ability to implement, manage, and troubleshoot hybrid cloud environments.Ensuring scalability, high availability, and performance across virtualized environments.Backup & Disaster Recovery (DR)Expertise in Veeam or other backup solutions for hybrid cloud.Ensuring compliance with data retention and business continuity strategies.Security & ComplianceKnowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, ITIL).Experience in implementing access controls, identity management, and security monitoring.Software Licensing & Cost ManagementManaging VMware, Microsoft Windows, SQL, and backup software licenses.Optimizing costs through forecasting, audits, and vendor negotiations.Performance Monitoring & OptimizationUsing tools like Dynatrace, Aria, and Azure Monitor to track and improve performance.Identifying and resolving hybrid cloud bottlenecks proactively.Collaboration & CommunicationAbility to work with cross-functional teams (Architects, SREs, Security, Network).Strong documentation skills for technical designs and reports.Incident Management & Problem-SolvingAbility to diagnose and resolve hybrid cloud performance and security issues.Leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.Strategic Thinking & InitiativeOwnership of hybrid cloud tasks with minimal vendor reliance.Proactively identifying and implementing process improvements.Fluent in written and verbal EnglishABOUT YOUR NEW TEAM:We are Coca-Cola Hellenic, a growth-focused consumer goods business and strategic bottling partner of the Coca-Cola Company.
