Senior Materials Engineer

Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Material Engineer to join Elmarakby's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for standardizing material descriptions and codes across all company stores, controlling and following up on purchase orders, and preparing Material Requirement Planning in coordination with relevant departments. This role plays a key part in reducing procurement costs by eliminating duplicate or overlapping item descriptions, ensuring accurate stock control, and improving overall material classification efficiency across the organization.ResponsibilitiesImprove descriptions and create new codes for required materials requested by all departments.Follow up on and control purchase orders in terms of descriptions, stock balances, and feasibility of requests.Standardize codes for identical items (spare parts, oils, etc.) to reduce costs from duplicate purchases.Prepare Material Requirement Planning (MRP) in coordination with relevant departments.Prepare reports on pending purchase orders and orders with issues.Modify material descriptions and standardize item codes.Reduce costs resulting from purchasing the same item multiple times due to overlapping or inconsistent descriptions.Verify that materials are not purchased unnecessarily due to incorrect or duplicate descriptions when stock is already available.Modify purchase requests in line with the requesting department's actual needs.Standardize item codes across all company stores to support cost reduction and enable balance transfers between stores when needed.CompetenciesProfessional Knowledge & SkillsResults OrientationCustomer SatisfactionCompliance to Policies, Procedures & RegulationsEffective CommunicationCreativity & InnovationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (relevant specialization)Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related fieldProficient in using computer applicationsGood spoken and written EnglishOther RequirementsStrong negotiation skillsStrong administrative skillsHigh level of communication skills
