highly motivated Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to establish and develop the Mechanical Engineering capability within Project Centre Middle East & Africa.The role will be responsible for mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including 3D plant design, equipment integration, piping design, plant layout development, installation engineering, fabrication support, and site execution support.The successful candidate will work closely with Process, Automation, Procurement, and Project Management teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions that meet customer requirements and Tetra Pak standards.This position offers an excellent opportunity to shape the future Mechanical Engineering function and develop into a Mechanical Engineering Lead role within the organization.What You Will DoMechanical Engineering & Project ExecutionLead mechanical engineering activities from concept development through commissioning and project handover.Develop and maintain 3D plant models, equipment layouts, and piping arrangements using approved CAD and plant design tools.Prepare and review:General Arrangement (GA) drawingsPlant layoutsPiping layoutsInstallation drawingsFabrication drawingsIsometric drawingsEquipment integration drawingsCoordinate equipment placement, pipe routing, access requirements, maintenance zones, and safety clearances.Ensure designs are practical, constructible, maintainable, and compliant with project requirements and applicable standards.Perform material take-offs (MTOs), installation material calculations, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).Conduct design reviews and constructability assessments throughout project execution.Manage mechanical engineering deliverables in accordance with project budget, schedule, quality, and scope requirements.Support risk assessments, design verification, and technical issue resolution.Piping & Installation EngineeringDevelop piping concepts and routing solutions for hygienic process installations.Review piping designs for functionality, accessibility, drainage, cleanability, and maintenance requirements.Develop installation concepts and construction methodologies that support efficient site execution.Prepare installation packages and documentation for fabrication and installation teams.Support pipe support design, equipment support requirements, and installation interfaces.Provide technical support during fabrication, prefabrication, and site installation activities.Participate in commissioning, troubleshooting, punch-list resolution, and project closeout activities.Ensure lessons learned from site activities are incorporated into future designs.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Process Engineers to convert process requirements into practical mechanical and piping solutions.Support Sales and Proposal teams during pre-project and quotation activities.Collaborate with Procurement on technical specifications, supplier evaluations, and document reviews.Coordinate with Automation, Electrical, and Site Teams to ensure effective multidisciplinary integration.Serve as the primary mechanical engineering interface for internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.Mechanical Engineering DevelopmentEstablish and maintain mechanical engineering standards, templates, and best practices.Develop reusable design solutions, engineering databases, and standard component libraries.Drive engineering standardization initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and project execution.Contribute to the development of mechanical engineering tools, processes, and working methods.Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership within the organization.Support the long-term development of a Mechanical Engineering Centre of Excellence within Project Centre Middle East & Africa.We believe you haveBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.8+ years of experience within mechanical engineering, plant engineering, piping engineering, or industrial project execution.Strong experience in:3D plant designMechanical equipment integrationPlant layout developmentInstallation engineeringPiping design and routingExperience developing and reviewing:GA drawingsInstallation drawingsPiping layoutsFabrication drawingsIsometric drawingsExperience preparing MTOs, BOMs, and installation material calculations.Practical knowledge of fabrication processes, site installation activities, and commissioning support.Strong understanding of constructability, maintainability, and installation requirements.Ability to independently lead mechanical engineering activities within multidisciplinary projects.Experience in dairy, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or hygienic process industries.Knowledge of hygienic design principles and sanitary process installations.Experience with:CIP systemsHygienic process pipingValve clustersStainless steel process equipmentFamiliarity with ASME, EN, ISO, and hygienic design standards.Experience supporting brownfield installation projects and retrofit activities.Technical SkillsExperience with one or more of the following:Autodesk
