The organization employs around 750 team members and operates seven commercial and on-site batch plants strategically located to serve major metropolitan areas.Role Description The Shift Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt, responsible for overseeing daily operations at the ready-mix concrete batch plant during assigned shifts. This role includes monitoring production processes, supervising plant staff, and ensuring that concrete quality, safety standards, and delivery schedules are consistently met. The Shift Engineer coordinates with maintenance and logistics teams to minimize downtime, optimize resource usage, and support timely dispatch of loads to customers. The position also involves maintaining accurate shift reports, tracking production metrics, and implementing operational improvements in line with company procedures and industry standards.Qualifications Technical and engineering skills: Knowledge of concrete production processes, batch plant operations, and basic mechanical or electrical troubleshooting.Operations and process management skills: Ability to manage shift activities, monitor production metrics, and optimize workflows to meet quality and delivery targets.Safety and compliance skills: Familiarity with industrial safety practices, environmental regulations, and quality control standards related to ready-mix concrete.Leadership and communication skills: Experience supervising teams, coordinating with cross-functional departments, and communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders.Analytical and problem-solving skills: Capacity to identify operational issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions under time constraints.Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with prior experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials, or plant operations preferred.Additional qualifications: Willingness to work in rotating shifts, strong attention to detail, proficiency with basic computer applications and production reporting tools, and fluency in English and Arabic is an advantage.
