IEREK (International Experts for Research Enrichment and Knowledge Exchange) organizes international conferences, publishes academic journals and books, and connects scholars and professionals worldwide. We are seeking a Social Media & Communications Associate to support our digital presence, strengthen brand visibility, and foster engagement across platforms.Administrative Level:Job Title: Social Media and Communications AssociateDepartment: Marketing DepartmentReports to: General Manager/ Operations ManagerWhere is it located in the organizational system?: Entry LevelEmployment type: Full-timeLocation: Alexandria, EgyptResponsibilities and Duties (include but are not limited to):Social Media Strategy & ManagementAssist in developing and executing strategic social media plans for IEREK’s conferences, events, and publications.Manage and grow presence on LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms.Content Creation & Community EngagementCreate and schedule engaging content (posts, visuals, stories, videos, blogs, etc.).Monitor interactions, respond to inquiries, and build a vibrant academic/professional community online.Public Relations & Brand OutreachDraft and distribute press releases, announcements, and updates.Support outreach to media outlets, institutions, and professionals to expand brand presence.Proactively seek out opportunities to increase visibility for IEREK and IEREK Press (media features, collaborations, interviews, book fairs, guest articles, etc.)Sponsorship DevelopmentResearch and identify potential sponsors for conferences and publications.Assist in preparing sponsorship proposals and maintaining sponsor relationships.Email Marketing & CampaignsHelp design and execute targeted email campaigns promoting calls for papers, conference announcements, and journal issues.Analytics & ReportingTrack and analyze the performance of digital campaigns across social media and email.Contribute to reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.Brand Consistency & CoordinationEnsure alignment of tone, branding, and messaging across all platforms.Coordinate communications with conference and publication schedules.Trend & Market MonitoringStay informed about trends in digital marketing, academic publishing, and event promotion to propose fresh strategies.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is a must.Excellent written and verbal command of English (i.e. B2/C1 proficiency) is a must.Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, META Business Suite etc.).Interest in academic publishing, conferences, or higher education is a plus.Ability to multitask, work collaboratively, and meet deadlines.Experience:0-2 years of experience in academic publishing, editorial support or administrative roles.Experience with academic writing, research processes or peer review systems is advantageous.Familiarity with conference proceedings and/or journal publishing processes is desirable.Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Knowledge of manuscript submission and peer review platforms (e.g. OJS, ScholarOne, etc…) is advantageous.Familiarity with digital publishing tools and file formats (PDF, XML, LaTeX basics) is a plus.Basic understanding of academic databases and indexing systems (e.g., Scopus, Web of Science, etc…) is preferred.Soft Skills:Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time-management abilities.Collaborative, able to work effectively within a team across departments.Adaptable, able to prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate and escalate issues appropriately.What We Offer:Hands-on experience in international academic events and publishing.A collaborative environment with opportunities for growth.Exposure to communications, PR, sponsorship, and digital marketing strategies in a global context.Kindly note:A Bachelor's degree is a must, any applications submitted without a completed undergraduate qualification will be automatically disqualified.This is a full-time, in-person role.
