About the Role:We’re looking for a detail-oriented Software Asset & Licensing Specialist with approximately 4 years of hands-on experience managing software portfolios, contracts, licenses, and suppliers. You will own the lifecycle of software assets, from demand intake and procurement through assignment, optimization, and renewal, and help the organization maximize value, reduce risk, and maintain audit readiness.Key Responsibilities:Software Asset Management (SAM) & ITAMMaintain the software asset inventory and license entitlements across the organization.Reconcile license consumption vs. entitlements and remediate gaps or risks.Drive optimization initiatives (right-sizing, reharvesting unused licenses, eliminating shelfware).Ensure audit readiness (evidence, entitlements, purchase records, deployment data).Support compliance with vendor EULAs and licensing metrics (user, device, core, subscription, CALs, etc.).Licensing & ProcurementManage end-to-end software procurement (demand validation, quotes, PO creation, GRN, invoice matching).Negotiate with vendors, resellers, and distributors for best pricing, terms, and service levels.Track renewals and manage true-ups, maintenance, and subscription lifecycles.Collaborate with Legal/Finance to ensure contractual compliance and budget adherence.Supplier & Stakeholder ManagementMaintain relationships with multiple suppliers and resellers; monitor SLAs/KPIs.Partner with IT, Security, Finance, and Business Units to align software to actual needs.Serve as the license SME for common enterprise vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, Oracle—depending on stack).Operations & EnablementAssign and revoke licenses via admin centers or ITAM/SAM tools.Improve request-to-fulfillment workflows and catalogue accuracy.Produce dashboards and reports for usage, spend, optimization wins, compliance status.Contribute to policy and process improvements (onboarding/offboarding, UEM/SCCM/Intune integrations).(Nice to Have) Tools & PlatformsExperience with ITAM/SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM, Lansweeper, ManageEngine, or Microsoft admin portals).SharePoint administration for documentation repositories, approval workflows, and reporting pages.Qualifications:~4 years of experience in software licensing, SAM/ITAM, procurement, or supplier management.Good understanding of licensing models (per-user, per-device, subscription, concurrent, processor/core, CALs).Experience assigning licenses and tracking consumption against entitlements.Proficiency with Excel/Sheets and reporting; familiarity with admin portals for license assignments.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a process mindset.Nice-to-HaveHands-on with ITAM/SAM platforms (Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM, etc.).Experience in SharePoint administration (sites, lists, workflows, permissions).Familiarity with SCCM/Intune, AD/Azure AD, M365 Admin Center, and SSO integrations.Knowledge of contract terms (EULA, MSA, DPA, SLA) and basics of software audits.Exposure to cost optimization frameworks and chargeback/showback models.
