Solutions Engineer

Job Description:The Solution Engineer within Operations Engineering AMET is responsible for delivering end-to-end engineering solutions. They own the design and development of the solutions until the “ready to execute” stage. The nature of the projects managed by the solution engineer consists of medium & large REI projects, both in terms of scope and complexity, and mainly involves automation technologies (conveyance and sortation) and storage solutions. The Solution Engineer is expected to have a thorough understanding of operational flow and constraints to efficiently operate across all business segments: FC, Middle Mile, AMZL, and Quick Commerce.Expected deliverables:Identify the problem statements from project requestors and challenge assumptions and the status quo to ensure the project will bring long-term value.Gather project requirements, define success criteria, and help the customer identify must-haves vs nice-to-haves.Understand the relevant technologies available in the region, along with their specifications, to draw technical solutions themselves, considering human/equipment interactions.Understand the operational workflows inside FC, SC, DS, and QC and think strategically to propose a relevant solution integrating within the bigger picture.Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and other teams to create innovative solutions.Propose realistic, robust, simple, and frugal solutions to address problem statements.Propose a realistic execution plan with minimum disruption to operationsLead and coordinate the design and scoping effort between internal stakeholders (Ops, Safety, RME, Capacity, Construction, Procurement, Finance) and external stakeholders (vendors).Accurately estimate project cost and timeline.Deliver bar-raising CAR WP for a value above $5MM and drive its approval in a timely manner.Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.Gather lessons learned from customer and execution teams to update Pre-execution tools/checklistsRequired qualifications/certifications:Languages (English, Arabic, and one other language preferred (Spanish for LATAM))Master’s degrees in industrial engineering preferredBachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or structural EngineeringReading and drawing skills on complex CAD and BIM360 are a mustDeep analytical
