Alexandria's junior software market is smaller than Cairo's but growing steadily, feeding off the city's engineering-strong universities (Alexandria University, AAST, Pharos) and the multinational BPO tech teams that anchor much of the local white-collar tech employment. Sutherland and Concentrix run substantial Alexandria technology-support operations; several Cairo-based Egyptian ISVs and product companies have opened Alexandria branches to tap the local talent pool. A newer lane: US and EU remote-first companies increasingly hire junior Egyptian engineers from Alexandria directly, avoiding the Cairo cost premium. Roles span web, mobile, QA, and BPO-adjacent enterprise-integration stacks.
