The tech employer landscape in Egypt splits across three cohorts. Local scaleups — Instabug, Paymob, MNT-Halan, Money Fellows, Bosta, BasharSoft (Wuzzuf), Homzmart, and Giza Systems — together employ the majority of Egypt's product engineers and hire the largest single cohort of junior + mid engineers each cycle. Multinational R&D centres — IBM Egypt, Microsoft Egypt, Vodafone Group's VOIS, Orange Business Services, Amazon (via AWS Cairo), and Ericsson — offer senior/staff/principal ladder tracks calibrated against global engineering bands. The country's long-established systems integrators and ISVs — Giza Systems, ITWorx, Silicon Valley Egypt, and Raya Holding's tech arms — hire consistently across .NET, Java, and enterprise integration stacks. On top of those three cohorts, a growing lane of US/EU remote-first companies hires senior Egyptian engineers directly, often at multiples of local senior compensation.
