Maadi is a leafy, low-rise district of Cairo south of downtown along the Nile Corniche, historically the residential base for expat professionals and the tech-startup community. The area concentrates Egyptian offices of several international NGOs (UN agencies, Save the Children, CARE), consulting firms (McKinsey has an office in Maadi), a strong tech-startup footprint (Instabug historically based in Maadi, plus many mid-size ISVs and product studios), and multinational back-office functions. Beyond the professional cluster, Maadi hosts the American Chamber of Commerce Egypt and the American International School, both of which run their own recruitment pipelines. Commuting is well-served by the Cairo Metro Line 1 (Maadi station) and ride-share apps.
