Smart Village is Egypt's flagship IT-and-technology campus on the Cairo–Alexandria desert road, west of the Nile at the edge of 6th of October and Giza. The campus was designed as the country's tech corridor and hosts the Egyptian R&D and IT-services operations of most multinational technology employers — Vodafone Group's VOIS Egypt (thousands of engineers supporting Vodafone's global operations), IBM Egypt, Orange Business Services, Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, ITWorx, and Fujitsu. Government-adjacent tech agencies (ITIDA, NTRA) also have offices here. Roles concentrate in software engineering, IT services, network engineering, telecom back-office, and BPO. Employer-run shuttles from central Cairo, Giza, and 6th of October handle most of the commute.
