Job PurposeThis position plays a pivotal role in managing the full development lifecycle of real estate projects, from initial concept and site acquisition through to project delivery. The development manager oversees multiple projects and collaborates with internal teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to drive successful execution and value creation.Principal Accountabilities Lead and manage all phases of the real estate development process, including feasibility analysis, site selection, design, construction, and project close-out. Develop and monitor project budgets, track costs, and ensure adherence to financial parameters. Collaborate with finance to secure project financing and optimize financial performance. Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants; coordinate resources and dependencies effectively. Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders, including project owners and local authorities. Identify potential risks and challenges to timelines and budgets; develop and implement effective mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental laws. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify viable development opportunities. Evaluate land acquisition opportunities, perform due diligence, and manage feasibility studies. Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors; ensure contractual obligations are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget. Promote sustainable design and construction practices, focusing on quality and safety; incorporate industry best practices. Prepare regular reports for the Development Director on project progress, budgets, timelines, and risk factors; ensure project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive.Qualifications & Experience (competencies Required) Bachelor’s degree in real estate, construction management, architecture, engineering, urban planning, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is a plus. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Deep knowledge of real estate market trends, development processes, and regulatory requirements. Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis. Experience with project management software, scheduling tools, and real estate development platforms. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Knowledge of sustainability principles and green building practices is an advantage. Certifications: PMP, LEED accreditation, or similar industry certifications are a plus.
