GL Supervisor

About the RoleWe’re seeking an experienced GL Supervisor to oversee General Ledger (GL) activities and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. You will lead day-to-day GL operations, manage month-end close processes, support internal controls, and partner cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate General Ledger accounting activities and team workflow.Lead and ensure completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.Review journal entries, reconciliations, and account classifications for accuracy and completeness.Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.Maintain and improve internal controls across GL processes.Prepare or support reporting for stakeholders, including variance analysis and reconciliations as needed.Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, data issues, and reporting variances.Collaborate with AP/AR, Payroll, and other departments to ensure accurate postings and clean data.Support audits (internal/external) by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.Coach, train, and develop accounting staff; ensure documentation of procedures.Identify process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve controls.        RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including General Ledger or close ownership.3+ years in a supervisory or lead capacity (preferred).Strong working knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and close processes.Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, PeopleSoft, or similar).Advanced Excel skills (required); ability to work with large datasets.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills and ability to partner across departments.Experience with audit support and internal controls is a plus.
