A distinguished family is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Governess/Teacher to support the educational and developmental needs of two children aged 9 and 7, both attending a British international school in Cairo. The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for overseeing the children’s academic progress, supporting the British curriculum, and fostering a structured, engaging, and nurturing learning environment at home.Responsibilities include liaising closely with the school and teachers, planning and delivering educational sessions, supporting homework and exam preparation, organising enrichment and extracurricular activities, coordinating with additional tutors where applicable, and maintaining daily routines such as school preparation, scheduling, and bedtime. The role also involves light nanny duties including preparing lunch boxes and ensuring the children are ready for school.Applicants must hold a university degree in Education or a related field and have a minimum of 2–3 years’ full-time teaching experience in a school setting (not as a supply or assistant teacher), along with a strong understanding of the British education system and experience working with children in a similar age group. The ideal candidate must also hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and demonstrate strong teaching capabilities in Mathematics, English (Language), and Information Technology.The position is full-time, live-in, working six days per week, offering a salary of £5000–£6000 per month depending on qualifications and experience, with private en-suite accommodation provided, three weeks’ annual leave, and travel required within Europe and the UK.
