Head of English Department (Years 1–9, British Curriculum) — Silicon Valley International School (SVIS)Location: New Administrative Capital, EgyptJoin our team• We’re seeking an experienced Head of English to lead the department across Years 3 to 9 in our British curriculum school—driving high-quality literacy, consistent teaching practice, and measurable progress in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.About Silicon Valley International School• SVIS blends global standards with Cairo’s momentum to deliver innovative, student-centered learning on a modern campus in the New Administrative Capital.What you will doLead English (Years 1–9, KS1–3) strategy, curriculum, and quality assurance aligned to British frameworks (Cambridge Primary & Lower Secondary)Design schemes of work, unit plans, and assessments covering phonics, spelling, grammar, comprehension, and compositionCoach and appraise English teachers through observations, feedback, moderation, and PDBuild a reading culture via guided reading, reading for pleasure, library use, and interventionsUse data (formative, summative, benchmark) to monitor progress and close gapsModel differentiated, EAL-sensitive instruction and embed literacy across the curriculumManage resources, texts, edtech tools, and interactive panelsLiaise with parents, stakeholders, and leadership; uphold safeguarding and whole-school policiesWhat you bringMA in English, Education (English-focused), or a related field (required); Bachelor's degree minimum with recognized teaching qualification5+ years of English teaching in British curriculum schools, including leadership/coordination experienceDeep knowledge of English progression (Years 1–9, KS1–3), including phonics, early literacy, and KS3 literature & languageProven impact in raising attainment through curriculum design, coaching, and data-driven instructionStrong people leadership: coaching, feedback, and building a collaborative team cultureC2-level English proficiency for instruction, leadership, and parent communicationOrganized, proactive, and impact-drivenAll qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.What we offer• Salary: 30,000 – 40,000 EGP per month, based on experience and qualifications.• Transportation, social, and medical insurance.• Tuition fee discount for dependents.
