Job SummaryThe Head of Finance is responsible for leading the overall financial strategy, planning, reporting, andcontrol of the organization. The role ensures financial stability, funding strategies, regulatory compliance,strong internal controls, and effective cash flow management while supporting executive decision-makingand business growth. The Head of Finance oversees all accounting, treasury, budgeting, taxation, andfinancial reporting functions and serves as a strategic advisor to senior management.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Strategy & LeadershipDevelop and implement the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall businessobjectives and provide strategic financial guidance to the concerned parties.Lead long-term financial planning, investment analysis, and capital allocation decisions. Develop and implement funding strategies to support the company’s operational andexpansion plans.Identify appropriate financing options including bank facilities, loans, trade financeinstruments, and other funding sources.Lead negotiations with banks and financial institutions regarding credit facilities, loanagreements, and financing terms.Prepare financial models, feasibility studies, and investment analyses to support fundingrequests and capital projects.Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and potential investors.2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis and correctiverecommendations.Deliver timely financial insights and reports to support strategic decision-making.Establish and track key financial KPIs.3. Accounting & Financial ReportingOversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, costaccounting, and inventory.Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS / GAAP) and regulatoryrequirements.Review and approve financial reports prior to executive and Board submission.4. Treasury & Cash Flow ManagementOversee treasury operations, including cash flow planning, liquidity management, bankingrelationships and ensure effective working capital management.Manage funding arrangements, credit facilities, and financial risk exposure.Monitor foreign exchange and financial market risks where applicable.5. Taxation & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure accurate and timely submission of all tax returns (VAT, income tax, withholding tax, etc.).Oversee tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.6. Internal Controls & Risk Management Establish and maintain strong internal control systems to safeguard company assets.Ensure proper governance, financial policies, and procedures are implemented and followed.Lead audit processes and address audit findings effectively.7. ERP & Financial Systems OversightOversee finance-related ERP systems and ensure accurate financial data mapping and reportingstructures.Promote automation and digital transformation within the finance function.8. Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and accountability. Qualifications & RequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or ACCA preferred).Experience15+ years of progressive experience in finance, including senior leadership roles.Experience in agriculture, FMCG, or multi-entity organizations is preferred.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of financial planning, cost management, and financial reporting standards.Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.Strong ERP system knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Odoo, or similar).Excellent command of Excel and financial reporting tools.Soft SkillsStrong leadership and decision-making capabilities.Excellent communication and presentation skills.High level of integrity and professional ethics.
