Overview Of The Role:The Import Specialist is critical in securing the stock availability through an effective importation and clearance process at IKEA Egypt. The role demands building and maintaining relationships with service providers, distributors, and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant clearance of goods. Success in this role is measured by the punctual delivery of products to stores, adherence to IKEA's documented procedures, and regulatory compliance with customs and GOEIC regulations.What You Will Do:Import and Clearance ManagementCreate a dynamic import and clearance process, resolving administrative issues and building strong professional relationships with service providers.Prepare all required documents to implement a smooth import process.Maintain communication with the IKEA distributor regarding supply issues and the annual IKEA range cycle.Keep track of shipments at port and accelerate the clearance process with the broker to deliver goods to the store on agreed dates.Regulatory Compliance and ReportingEnsure awareness and adherence to GOEIC and Customs regulations.Implement systems and methods as stated in IKEA Concept Documentation in relation to areas of responsibility.Daily report on shipment statuses and expected arrival dates.SkillsRequired Skills To Be Successful:Strong knowledge of import and export regulations and practices.Proven ability to manage relationships with customs and regulatory bodies.Proficient in logistics management software and reporting tools.Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.What Qualifies You For The Role:Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or Business Administration.2-3 years of experience in a similar position or in logistics.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build working relationships.Demonstrated capability in continuous improvement, teamwork, and individual accountability.
