Overview Of The Role:The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, clean, and functional environment for visitors and co-workers by maintaining the building's HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other operational systems. The role focuses on keeping the facilities at IKEA Egypt 'In Shape As New' to promote IKEA's brand image. Success in this role involves upholding customer and co-worker safety to the highest standards, adhering to standard operating procedures, and maintaining store standards.What You Will Do:OperationalConduct building maintenance and repair functions to keep the store 'In Shape As New' using journey level skills.Possess an in-depth understanding of building assets, equipment, and facilities systems for emergency, preventative, and reactive repairs.Complete work orders and perform routine preventative maintenance schedules on various equipment.Diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs on systems including but not limited to Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.Maintain and repair appliances, escalators, elevators, and facilities such as tiles, roofing, and lighting systems.Collaborate with external service providers and manage specifications and scope of works for premises maintenance carried out by contractors.Utilize shop machinery, hand tools, technical measurement tools, and high-level equipment for maintenance duties.Ensure spare parts and consumables inventory is replenished when necessary.Promote a safe work environment by adhering to internal, local/federal, and Inter IKEA Group risk guidelines.Service OrientationFoster a service-oriented approach with all departments.Be a main contact point with external service providers for maintenance activities.SkillsRequired Skills To Be Successful:Knowledge of fire and security systems.Technical expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing for Facilities Management.Ability to multitask effectively.Strong written and verbal English communication skills.What Qualifies You For The Role:High School or Trade School Graduate.3-5 years proven experience in Building Maintenance.Technical knowledge in Facilities Management including Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.Experience in a large-scale retail store or mall environment.
