Job Summary JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for reviewing and maintaining comprehensive occupational health and implementing medical emergency systems through all rig operational status. Ensures medical readiness, compliance, and employee wellness by coordinating healthcare resources, conducting audits, monitoring Chronic conditions, and leading emergency preparedness efforts. Serves as the primary medical point of contact during emergencies, oversee clinic operations, and supports health initiatives.Roles & Responsibilities1- Safety & Compliance Duties:Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with the Company’s QHSSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices, and complies with ADES WAY, rules.Will be a champion of Safety, providing exemplary leadership and commitment to all safety initiatives within the business.Places Safety as a true north, and never placing employees, ADES processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.Will ensure that safety protocols are always adhered to.2- Medical Personnel ManagementReviews the medical check-up results and provide approvals for both newly hired employees and those undergoing periodic check-ups.Ensures all Rig Doctors are properly trained, competent, and fully aware of their medical, administrative, and reporting responsibilities.Assists in the evaluation of recruiting and management of Rig Medics.Provide emergency medical assistance for ADES staff, but not routine medical treatment.Guides and supports Rig Doctors, including providing regular performance feedback.Develops and maintains a medical competency framework and organize necessary training or refresher courses.3- Emergency Response And Medical Transfer CoordinationDesigns, implements, and approves for emergency medical response plans tailored to each rig’s location, identifying suitable hospitals for specific incident types.Develops and manages a dynamic medical emergency matrix linking rig sites, injury types, and regional healthcare providers.Serves as the primary liaison with hospitals during emergencies, coordinating transfers and making immediate clinical decisions for patient care.Supports and participates in emergency drills related to medical incidents according to the country drill matrix4- Medical Infrastructure And Resource OversightEstablishes and maintains a system for proactive tracking of medical equipment and consumables across all rig clinics.Ensures compliance and readiness by validating equipment availability, expiration dates, and procurement timelines.Evaluates and supervise rig medics / doctors and track the catering service providers. Audit And ComplianceDevelops and executes a detailed audit matrix and site audit plan in collaboration with the QHSSE team, ensuring medical compliance with regulatory and internal standards.Performs inspections of rig clinics, service providers, and associated health systems to verify adherence to ISO, IADC, and local HSE regulations.5- Occupational Health Monitoring & DocumentationReview regular medical check-ups and health assessments for all rig crew. Creates and maintains secure health records through a standardized, accessible, and confidential filing system to use it in case of any emergency.Tracks Chronic illnesses and ensures continuity of care through preventive protocols and personalized follow-ups.Communicates with rig management, QHSSE, P&O, and other relevant departments for proper handling of medical cases.Monitors recovery progress of injured/ occupational illness employees and ensures follow-up medical care is provided as needed.Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records, including “Fit to Work” certificates, and ensures timely updates in the company system.Working closely with rig medics, to identify and monitor the daily operations performed on the rig’s clinics.6- Health Promotion And PreventionParticipates in health campaigns that focus on lifestyle, nutrition, disease prevention, and mental wellness. Promotes health awareness initiatives and preventive healthcare measures through campaigns among rig and office employees.Health alerts will be issued as required in response to epidemics or health-related risks, following consultation with the appropriate ADES departments.7- Sick Leave & Medical ApprovalsReviews, validates, and approves employee sick leave requests in line with company policy and medical best practices.Verifies medical reports and ensures authenticity before processing any related P&O/Payroll actions.Job RequirementsEducation & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in medicine or medical doctor with Occupational health certification.Min 3-5 Years of experience in corporates, in occupational health or remote site healthcare.Previous exposure to drilling or offshore Oil & Gas environments strongly preferred.Skills/Competencies RequiredKnowledge of IADC medical classification, OGUK and health and safety offshore standards.Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols, clinic audits, and medical supply management systems.Deep knowledge of the IADC standards and IADC incident classification.Ensure proper case management and as per IADC standardsProficiency in medical documentation, reporting software, and health data analysis.Decision maker in high-risk medical scenarios.Tracks and manages critical health equipment.Maintains high standards of documentation and audit readiness.Engages with internal teams, external providers, and regulatory bodies.CertificationsOccupational Health Certification.Medical Emergency Response Training (MERT).IADC Rig Pass® (optional).
