Job Purpose: The officer administers the full operational implementation and coordination of the project. This role administers the entire project lifecycle, spanning logistics coordination across four Training of Trainers (ToT) cohorts in Egypt and two African countries, contract administration, partner liaison, financial compliance, curriculum support, and donor reporting, to ensure all deliverables are met on time, within budget, and in alignment with AUC institutional requirements and the donor’s regulations.Core Responsibilities:Project Management, Operations and Procurement:Administer the overall implementation of the project, ensuring timely delivery of activities and deliverables within budget and in line with project objectivesCoordinate logistics and on-site operations for Cairo and regional training cohorts, including international travel arrangementsSupervise and support project team members to ensure alignment with timelines and quality standardsOversee procurement of training equipment, IT supplies, and technical resources in coordination with Supply Chain Management to ensure efficient project deliveryFinancial Management, Reporting and Compliance:Manage the project budget in coordination with AUC financial officers, ensuring accurate forecasting, expenditure tracking, and compliance with institutional and donor regulationsAdminister contracts and agreements with trainers, consultants, and partner institutionsPrepare and submit donor progress, financial, and final reports, while coordinating with the MEL Specialist to monitor project performance, track milestones, and support data-driven improvementsStakeholder Engagement and Communications:Serve as the primary liaison with regional partner institutions and coordinate with AUC departments to maintain effective collaboration and operational support throughout the project lifecycleSupport communication and outreach activities, including dissemination events, publications, and management of the project website and portal, to enhance project visibility and the dissemination of outcomes and knowledge productsCurriculum and Digital Learning Development:Support the development, contextualization, and finalization of training curriculum modules to ensure relevance and quality.Oversee the development and launch of digital learning initiatives, including online learning platforms, alumni peer-learning portals, and MOOC production activities, to expand access to project knowledge and training resources.General Support:Perform other essential duties as required.Qualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, international development, economics, or a related field is requiredMaster’s degree in project management, environmental sciences, sustainable development, or a related field is preferredMinimum of seven years of progressive experience in project management, preferably including management of donor-funded projects in an international or multi-country contextPrior experience in climate change, capacity building, or training program management is an advantageFamiliarity with AUC institutional processes or experience working within a research university setting is preferredSkills:Project and Financial Management: Strong ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects, including planning, implementation, budgeting, and donor-compliant financial oversight, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveryCommunication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Arabic is an advantage, with proven ability to build effective relationships with international partners, donors, and stakeholders, and prepare high-quality reports and documentationOrganizational and Analytical Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities and support data-informed decision-making in fast-paced environmentsTechnical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with project management and reporting toolsWorking Conditions: Willingness to travel frequently (30–40%) to regional training sites across AfricaThis position is open until July 12, 2026.Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
