Reports to: Senior Officer, Instructional Design, Digital EducationPurpose:The job holder is responsible for planning and supporting the pedagogical quality of online, blended, and web-enhanced courses. This includes acting as a design consultant to faculty and partners, assisting them translate learning outcomes and goals into effective digital learning experiences. The role ensures that courses reflect principles of active learning, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and accessibility. He or She will also verify that instructional strategies are carefully aligned with assessment and learner engagement across modalities.Responsibilities:Instructional Design and Consultancy:Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to create high quality online and blended learning courses, design accessible, active, and standards-aligned digital learning experiences that effectively translate learning outcomesEnsures that courses align with program goals, reflect principles of active learning, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility, and that instructional strategies are intentionally aligned with assessments and learner engagement across digital learning modalitiesCourse Development and Support:Oversee the quality and pedagogical value of digital learning activities and materials used in courses. This includes guiding the design and production of digital learning experiences, interactive media, and other digital assets that support both synchronous and asynchronous learningThe role ensures that content is pedagogically purposeful and appropriate for the learning context, while also enabling faculty to use different platforms effectively to sustain and update their own course materialsTraining and Collaboration:Build capacity across the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT) and academic community for effective digital teaching and learning. This includes developing and supporting Student Technology Assistants (STAs) and others who contribute to course development, as well as strengthening faculty confidence and competence in using digital platforms and pedagogical approachesThe role also contributes to cross-unit collaboration within the CLT, supporting strategic initiatives, shared projects, and digital education events that advance the institution’s broader teaching and learning goalsAdditional Related Duties:Contributing to CLT priorities and initiatives that support the continuous improvement of digital education, in alignment with University needsRequirements:Minimum Education Requirements:Bachelor’s degree (in a related field is preferred)Experience:Minimum of three years of experienceIncludes one-two years in a relevant field (Instructional Design or Technology Support)Experience supporting blended/online courses in higher education is preferredSkills:Technical:Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Web 2.0 tools, artificial intelligence in education, and content authoring softwareCommunication:Excellent written and spoken English; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical usersInterpersonal: Flexibility to train individuals with different competencies; strong teamwork skillsOrganizational:Ability to prioritize workflow and meet strict deadlinesThis position is open until July 5, 2026Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
