We foster a culture where trust, accountability, and achievement go hand in hand—because success isn’t just a goal; it’s how we work, every day, as one team.About The RoleThe Senior Project Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of delivery projects across Africa spanning issuing, acquiring, digital payments, and cards & switching solutions. The role drives projects from initiation through to post-go-live stabilization, ensuring delivery on scope, time, budget, and quality, while safeguarding customer satisfaction and commercial outcomes. The Senior PM acts as the single point of accountability to internal stakeholders, clients, and partners, and is expected to lead cross-functional project teams in a matrixed environment by mobilizing, motivating, and aligning resources who do not directly report to them.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the full project lifecycle for assigned projects from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling through to closure and handover to operations.Define and maintain robust project plans, schedules, RAID logs, budgets, and resource plans; track variances and proactively re-baseline when required.Drive UAT, certification (scheme/regulator), pilot, and production go-live milestones with measurable quality gates.Manage change requests (CRs), scope changes, and impact assessments with clear commercial and technical rationale.Lead, motivate, and inspire multi-disciplinary project teams (BAs, Tech Leads, Developers, QA, Operations, Scheme & Compliance).Establish a "one team" culture, fostering accountability, collaboration, transparency, and a customer-centric mindset across all stakeholders.Coach team members on delivery best practices; resolve interpersonal and performance issues constructively and escalate appropriately.Act as the primary point of contact for client project sponsors, business stakeholders, and partner organizations (banks, fintechs, schemes, regulators).Lead steering committees, status meetings, and executive reviews; produce concise, executive-ready reporting.Produce accurate, insight-driven status reports, dashboards, and steering committee decks for internal leadership, clients, and partners; ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality reporting cadence across the portfolio.Manage stakeholder expectations through clear, professional, and proactive communication — escalating risks early with mitigation options.Own project budget tracking, Opex/Capex controls, and revenue recognition milestones.Track resource utilization, timesheets, and forecast vs. actuals; flag commercial risks early.Identify and pursue upselling, cross-sell, and change-request revenue opportunities in partnership with Sales and Account Management.Maintain a live risk and issue register with owners, mitigation plans, and escalation paths.Ensure compliance with information security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements applicable to payments and banking.Champion delivery quality through structured lessons learned, retrospectives, and continuous improvement practices.Contribute to the evolution of delivery frameworks, templates, playbooks, and onboarding checklists; drive standardization across the Africa delivery portfolio.Ensure confidentiality of sensitive client and business data; adhere to NI project management processes and scheme mandates (Visa, Mastercard, regional switches).Required ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.Experience8–10 years of total professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in payments, fintech, or banking project delivery.Demonstrable experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects in cards, issuing, acquiring, digital wallets, mobile money, switching, or core banking environments.Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects (7+) across geographies.Strong command of project management methodologies Waterfall, Agile (Scrum, Kanban), and Hybrid delivery models.Knowledge / SkillsExcellent oral and written English communication with executive presence. French is a strong plus.Strong leadership, team building, mentoring, motivating, and negotiating skills in a matrixed environment.High degree of independent judgement; ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.Strong financial acumen budget management and reporting.Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and perform well in high-pressure environments.CertificationsPMP is a strong plus (PRINCE2 / PMI-ACP also recommended).ToolsJIRA (must-have) for project tracking and backlog management.eazyBI and Power BI for delivery dashboards and capacity reporting (strong plus).MS Project, MS Excel, Confluence, Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Copilot).Processes & MethodologyWaterfall, Scrum, Kanban, Hybrid delivery.Network International is an equal opportunity employer.
