About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant (Acting Accounting Lead) to join our travel agency in Cairo. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is ready to take ownership of the full airline accounting cycle while stepping into a leadership capacity.You will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy across complex travel transactions, and supporting strategic financial decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage daily accounting operations within the travel agencyHandle airline accounting, including ticketing, refunds, ADM/ACM, and supplier transactionsPrepare and submit BSP reports and manage settlements accuratelyPerform reconciliations for airline suppliers, GDS transactions, and PSP accounts, resolving discrepancies proactivelyTrack financial transactions across GDS systems (Amadeus GDS, Sabre, Galileo GDS)Monitor and reconcile Payment Service Provider (PSP) transactions (e.g., Paymob, Stripe)Prepare monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecastsConduct financial analysis to support decision-making and business growthEnsure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policiesCollaborate with different departments to optimize financial processesMentor and support junior accounting staff when neededGrowth OpportunityThis role offers a clear path into a permanent leadership position, with direct exposure to financial strategy, team management, and business decision-making within the travel industry.Team & CultureYou’ll be joining a collaborative and driven team that values ownership, continuous improvement, and professional growth. Requirements3–7 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a travel agency or airline environment (strongly preferred)Hands-on experience with BSP reporting and airline reconciliationPractical experience using GDS systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo)Strong understanding of travel-related financial flows (ticketing, refunds, commissions)Experience handling high-volume transactions with accuracyStrong financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting skillsSolid knowledge of tax compliance and financial regulationsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systemsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesGood communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyLeadership potential or prior experience mentoring team members
