Senior Contract Engineer

The Senior Contract Engineer is responsible for managing contracts, procurement support, commercial administration, and contractual compliance across development and construction projects. The role involves coordinating with consultants, contractors, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations, budget, quality, and timelines.Key ResponsibilitiesContract AdministrationPrepare, review, and administer construction contracts, consultancy agreements.Support tendering activities including RFQs, RFPs, bid analysis, and contract award recommendations.Draft contractual correspondence, notices, and formal communications.Ensure compliance with contract conditions, project specifications, and company policies.Monitor contractor and consultant obligations throughout project execution.Procurement & Tender ManagementCoordinate tender issuance and tender clarification processes.Evaluate technical and commercial submissions in coordination with technical teams.Prepare comparative statements and recommendation reports.Participate in negotiation meetings with contractors and suppliers.Support procurement strategies aligned with project budgets and timelines.Commercial & Claims ManagementReview variation orders, claims, extension of time requests, and payment applications.Assist in cost control and commercial risk assessment.Monitor contract changes and maintain proper records.Support dispute avoidance and resolution processes.Coordinate with cost consultants and project managers on commercial matters.Project CoordinationLiaise with internal departments including development, design, finance, legal, and project management teams.Attend project progress and commercial meetings.Track contractual milestones and key deliverables.Ensure proper documentation and contract filing systems are maintained.Risk & ComplianceIdentify contractual and commercial risks and propose mitigation measures.Ensure compliance with local regulations, company governance, and HSE contractual requirements.Review insurance, bonds, warranties, and contractual securities.Required QualificationsSkills, Knowledge and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.5–6 years of experience in contracts, , or commercial management within a real estate developer PMC, or main contractor environment.Strong understanding of construction contracts such as FIDIC and bespoke agreements.Knowledge of procurement processes and tender management.Good understanding of construction project lifecycle.Experience working with international or regional real estate developers.Experience in mixed-use, residential, commercial projects Required SkillsStrong negotiation and communication skills.Excellent contractual and commercial awareness.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Over 42,000 people work for us in more than 700 offices all over the world.
