Senior Cost Accountant

Position Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Cost and Budget Accountant to manage and optimize our budgeting and costing processes. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate cost control, effective budget management, and provide insights that drive financial efficiency. Proficiency in SAP is mandatory for this role.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Prepare, analyze, and report on cost structures, including direct and indirect costs.Oversee the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing variance analysis and recommending corrective actions.Collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.Ensure accurate product costing and pricing by analyzing manufacturing processes, overhead allocation, and material usage.Conduct periodic audits to ensure the integrity of the cost and budget data.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to costs and budgets.Utilize SAP for all cost accounting and budgeting activities, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.Assist in the development of financial forecasts and strategic plans.Provide training and support to junior accounting staff as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred.At least 8 years of experience in cost and budget accounting, with 3+ years in a senior position.Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.Proficiency in SAP is a must.Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and leadership skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
