Software Backend Development Engineer

Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.Role OverviewWe are looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join our team in Cairo, Egypt. This role is ideal for someone with 3+ years of experience in backend software development who is eager to grow their technical skills and contribute to building scalable, high-quality applications.The ideal candidate should have solid experience with Java, Spring Boot, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS is considered a strong plus.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot Build clean, scalable, and efficient APIs and backend components Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following engineering best practices Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including writing queries and supporting schema design Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards and team practices Support deployment and monitoring activities for backend services Contribute to cloud-based development initiatives, with AWS exposure being an advantage Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in backend engineering Strong proven experience with Java Strong experience with Spring Boot Familiarity with RESTful API development Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL Full Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design fundamentals Experience using Git or similar version control systems Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a team-oriented environment Preferred QualificationsExposure to AWS services Familiarity with Docker or containerized applications Understanding of microservices architecture Experience working in Agile development environments We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
