Textile Development Engineer

Reporting to the Country Sourcing ManagerResponsibilitiesWork with mills on new fabric concepts as defined byPDFabric development and cross-source activitiesReview, adjust, and approve fabric specifications, testing protocols, and performance requirements.Drive costing, MOQ, and lead-time negotiations on a seasonal basis.Identify opportunities for innovation and cost engineering options.Ensure on-time sampling and bulk approvalsManage Capacity planning and delivery performanceSupport monitor bulk fabric testing and quality checksAssist in troubleshooting fabric technical issues.Drive fabric-related communication with PD, quality and suppliersExcess Fabric ManagementJob RequirementsA degree in textile engineeringIn-depth technical knowledge in woven fabric, including denimAbility to handle testing, technical and quality issues independently4-6 years denim fabric experienceDenim Mill experience is mandatoryStrong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to collaborate and resolve issues with internal and external teams/suppliers.Must have knowledge of finishes applied to fabric that will withstand standard quality.Must have experience in formulations, wet & dry processes, chemicals and their application in final formulation to achieve acceptable garment results that meet the brand's requirements.Must have ability to transfer developmental formulation to production environment
