Purpose of the job: Develop and validate mechanical designs and simulations focused on thermal performance, structural integrity, and vibration resilience of components and assemblies at BrightEV. The position directly contributes to product reliability and safety by applying engineering analysis, simulation tools and cross-disciplinary collaboration during design development. Job Responsibilities & Duties: • Develop and validate mechanical component designs using CAD and simulation software such as SolidWorks, Creo, ANSYS, or similar tools, ensuring functional and manufacturable outcomes. • Perform structural, thermal, and vibration simulations to assess fatigue, heat dissipation, stress, and dynamic behavior of parts and assemblies, guiding design decisions with quantitative analysis. • Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure design intent aligns with production capabilities and test outcomes. • Integrate design changes based on test feedback, regulatory requirements, and performance data, ensuring that final designs perform reliably under real-world conditions. • Prepare detailed design documentation, engineering change orders (ECOs), and technical reports, maintaining traceability and engineering rigor. • Participate in design reviews and validations, presenting technical rationales, simulation results, and recommendations to stakeholders. Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. (Master’s is a plus). Required Experience: • 2–5 years practical experience in mechanical design with a strong emphasis on CAD and simulation (FEA/CFD). • Demonstrated exposure or hands-on experience with structural, thermal, or vibration simulation in product development. • Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, etc.) and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, Icepak, etc.). • Working knowledge of material properties, tolerance design, GD&T, and DFM principles. • Familiarity with design standards and quality systems (e.g., ISO, ASME). Skills and Abilities: • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to interpret complex simulation results and translate them into design improvements. • Strong communication skills for documentation, technical presentations, and cross-functional collaboration. • Attention to detail and accuracy in analysis, design drawings, and technical reports. • Time management and prioritization, balancing design tasks with prototype testing and review cycles. • Team orientation and adaptability, working with multiple disciplines to meet project objectives. • Continuous learner mindset to stay current with simulation technologies and design methodologies.
