AASTMT is recognized regionally for its contribution to maritime education and professional development.Role Description The Yacht Master will be responsible for planning and conducting practical and theoretical training related to yacht operations, navigation, safety, and seamanship. Day-to-day tasks include delivering instructional sessions, supervising on-water training exercises, assessing learner performance, and ensuring adherence to maritime safety regulations and Academy policies. The role involves maintaining training equipment and instructional materials, contributing to curriculum development, and collaborating with colleagues to uphold academic and operational standards. The Yacht Master is expected to support learners of diverse backgrounds, provide guidance on professional practices, and participate in relevant Academy activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, Egypt.Qualifications Possession of a recognized Yacht Master or equivalent maritime certificate of competency, with strong practical seamanship and navigation skills.Demonstrated experience in yacht operations, including passage planning, vessel handling, and safety management under various weather and sea conditions.Experience in maritime training or teaching, with the ability to explain complex nautical concepts clearly and support learners with different levels of experience.Knowledge of national and international maritime regulations, safety procedures, and industry best practices relevant to yacht operations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural academic environment and collaborate within instructional teams.Good organizational and record-keeping skills for training schedules, assessments, and regulatory documentation.Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.Relevant academic background in maritime studies or equivalent professional experience in the maritime sector.Commitment to learner-centered education, safety culture, and continuous professional development.
