Role OverviewWe are seeking a Protection Application Design Engineer to join our team, responsible for the design, configuration, and commissioning of IED protection parameters, including logic, communication, and protection settings, for complex international technical projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine the optimal IED type to meet client requirements in accordance with protection schemes and project specificationsImplement and validate LV/MV protection settingsDevelop and commission Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) logicParticipate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of protection relaysDesign and implement complex logic functions within IEDs to meet customer requirementsConfigure communication IED descriptions (CID files) for integration with internal and external SCADA systemsDefine and configure IP and Ethernet networks between connected devicesSupport tendering activities by estimating engineering efforts and man-hoursProvide site commissioning support, including integration with Electrical Distribution Switchgear (ED SWGR) and Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS)Prepare technical documentation and provide technical and commercial support related to protection engineering activitiesRequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related fieldMinimum 2 years of experience in electrical distribution, energy automation, protection systems, or commissioningHands-on experience with communication protocols such as IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 103, and similar standardsAdvanced knowledge of protection IEDs, including Schneider Electric solutions (VAMP, SEPAM, MICOM, Easergy, Tesys) and other vendors such as ABB, Siemens, and SELExperience with power metering devices, relay programming, and commissioning of advanced protection relaysProven experience with GOOSE messaging and SCD file configurationStrong understanding of ANSI/IEEE Standard Device Function numbersExperience preparing communication files for SCADA systems and performing signal and loop testing with EMCS and switchgearKnowledge of protection engineering standards, tools, procedures, and industry best practicesStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsGood communication and teamwork abilitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience in substation automation and protection coordinationExposure to international projects and customer-facing technical supportFamiliarity with SCADA integration and industrial communication networksBenefits Annual bonus Health insurance and wellness programs Professional development and training opportunities
