Design Engineer

Job Purpose:To develop competitive technical and commercial proposals by analyzing customer requirements, preparing accurate costing and pricing, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and supporting the sales process from opportunity identification through project handover to ensure customer satisfaction and business profitability.Key Responsibilities:Proposal & Tender ManagementAnalyze customer requirements, specifications, drawings, and tender documents to identify the most suitable equipment, solutions, and configurations.Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with Sales Representatives, ensuring full compliance with customer requirements and company standards.Develop and submit quotations, feasibility studies, and tender responses within agreed timelines.Review tender requirements and ensure all technical, commercial, contractual, and financialaspects are accurately addressed.Technical & Commercial EvaluationSource and evaluate supplier quotations and maintain an updated database of supplier pricing, technical specifications, and commercial terms.Calculate project costing and selling prices utilizing approved price lists, pricing policies, discounts, margins, and markups in coordination with the Team Leader and Segment Manager.Conduct detailed cost analysis, profitability assessments, and pricing evaluations to support management decision-making and customer negotiations.Prepare preliminary layouts, technical designs, drawings, and submittals for customer and consultant approval.Sales Support & Customer EngagementSupport the sales team throughout the sales cycle by providing technical expertise, commercial recommendations, and proposal-related guidance.Participate in customer meetings, clarification sessions, presentations, and conference calls to address technical and commercial inquiries.Assist in technical and commercial negotiations, including pricing discussions and value-engineering opportunities.Coordinate closely with Sales Representatives to track quotations, tenders, and opportunity status.Project Coordination & HandoverEnsure successful transition of awarded projects to the After-Award/Project Execution team by providing complete and accurate project documentation.Prepare and hand over all relevant documents, including ES, OIF, ISA, WUS, supplier quotations, technical submissions, and commercial agreements.Participate in project kick-off meetings to ensure effective knowledge transfer and alignment on customer requirements, contractual commitments, and project deliverables.Process Compliance & DocumentationEnsure all proposals and quotations comply with company policies, quality standards, ethical guidelines, and management directives.Maintain accurate and organized electronic records of quotations, tenders, supplier offers, studies, and project-related documentation.Follow up with internal departments and regional teams to ensure timely preparation and submission of requested offers and studies.Continuously seek process improvements to enhance proposal quality, accuracy, and turnaround time.GeneralCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Service, and Operations.Perform any additional duties and special assignments as requested by management.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering.0–3 years of experience in quotation preparation, proposal engineering, tendering, sales support, or a related technical role.Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and a demonstrated interest in technical sales and proposal preparation are encouraged to apply.Knowledge of quotation analysis, costing methodologies, and commercial proposal development is an advantage.Exposure to industrial equipment, power systems, construction equipment, or similar industries is preferred.
