This role involves designing, maintaining, and improving electro-mechanical systems and equipment used in chemical manufacturing processes. The engineer will perform troubleshooting for electrical and mechanical issues, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, and support the installation and commissioning of new machinery. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing system performance, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, collaborating with production and maintenance teams, and preparing technical documentation, reports, and recommendations to optimize reliability and efficiency.Key Responsibilities1. Project Management & Scope DefinitionScope Definition: Define clear project goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets in close collaboration with project stakeholders.Resource Allocation: Manage the procurement of hardware, software, and external contractors necessary for project execution.Risk Management: Proactively identify potential bottlenecks and develop effective mitigation plans to keep projects on track and within budget.2. System Design & EngineeringSystem Design: Develop comprehensive blueprints, schematics, and control narratives for automated machinery and industrial processes.Technical Specification: Select and specify appropriate PLCs, PACs, sensors, actuators, and robotics suited for system requirements.Framework Development: Write, review, and optimize high-quality code for control systems using standard languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).3. Implementation, Integration & OptimizationInstallation Oversight: Supervise the physical installation and electrical wiring of control panels and field-level devices.System Integration: Seamlessly interface disparate systems across networks, including SCADA, HMI, MES, and ERP platforms.Process Optimization: Fine-tune automation sequences post-installation to maximize system throughput, operational safety, and energy efficiency.4. Testing, Commissioning & HandoverQA/QC Testing: Lead and execute rigorous Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).Troubleshooting: Diagnose, debug, and resolve complex software logic or hardware failures during system startup and commissioning.User Training: Conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance teams to ensure smooth system operations and basic troubleshooting.5. Documentation & ComplianceRegulatory Compliance: Guarantee that all designed and automated systems meet rigorous safety standards and industry regulations.Project Documentation: Maintain meticulous, updated documentation, including CAD drawings, operation manuals, logic backups, and vendor records.Qualifications & SkillsProven experience in automation engineering, control systems design, or project engineering.Strong proficiency in programming control systems (Ladder Logic, Structured Text).Hands-on experience with PLCs, PACs, SCADA, HMI, MES, and ERP network integration.Experience executing FAT/SAT protocols and commissioning industrial equipment.Proficient with CAD software for drafting electrical and schematic layouts.Exceptional problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
