About Coffee AtelierCoffee Atelier is a specialty coffee company and the sole authorized distributor of La Marzocco in Egypt. Weoperate across three business lines: professional espresso equipment distribution, FMCG products(plant-based milks and matcha) sold through modern trade and HoReCa, and a technical aftersalesoperation maintaining a growing installed base of machines. We are a profitable, growing business of around45 people, and we are now building the management structure to support the next five years of growth.The RoleWe are looking for a Financial Controller to build and own the finance function. This is a hands-on,build-from-the-ground-up role: today the company runs without regular management reporting, and ourfinancial systems and records need to be brought to a professional standard. The Controller will establishreliable reporting, clean up our records, get our ERP working properly, and lead the finance team. The CEOis not from a finance background — this role exists to give the business clear, trustworthy financial visibilityand a finance function that runs without daily oversight from the CEO.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting and visibility• Produce a complete monthly management report — P&L, cash position, and receivables / payables aging— delivered by a fixed date each month.• Develop segment-level reporting that shows profitability separately for equipment distribution, FMCG, andaftersales.• Provide the CEO with clear, plain-language commentary on what the numbers mean and what theyrequire.Records and controls• Establish and maintain accurate customer accounts and statements; know what every customer owes andfor how long.• Implement basic financial controls and processes across collections, payables, and inventory.• Manage cash flow, including short-term forecasting to anticipate liquidity needs ahead of time.Systems• Take ownership of the company's Odoo ERP accounting module — bring it to full, reliable operation, ormake and execute a clear recommendation if it cannot meet the company's needs.• Ensure financial data is accurate, consistent, and properly recorded in the system.Compliance• Oversee tax compliance and statutory filings, and manage the relationship with external auditors.• Ensure the company meets all Egyptian financial reporting and regulatory obligations.Team• Lead and develop the four-person finance team; set clear expectations and standards.• Within the first months, assess the team's capability and structure, and recommend any changes neededto build a high-performing department.First 90 DaysWe expect the Controller to focus first on stabilizing monthly reporting and assessing the state of thebooks and the team — and to give the CEO an honest diagnosis of what they find. A clear, structured90-day plan will be discussed at interview. • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior accountant, in a company ofcomparable or larger size.• Experience in distribution, trading, retail, or another inventory- and import-driven business.• A professional accounting qualification (Egyptian CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent).• Hands-on experience with ERP systems; experience with Odoo is a strong advantage.• A track record of building or improving financial reporting and processes from a low base.• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team.• Ability to explain financial matters clearly to non-finance colleagues.• Fluent English and Arabic.
