Job SummaryThe Junior Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity, availability, and security of database systems. The role ensures data consistency, supports concurrent user access, monitors database performance, and implements backup and recovery procedures to protect organizational data. The DBA works closely with technical teams to support system development, optimization, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, upgrade, and maintain database management systems (DBMS)Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization improvementsEnsure database security, data integrity, backup, and recovery standards are metManage and support database environments for applications and usersImplement disaster recovery and business continuity proceduresProvide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issuesSupport database development activities and assess new database technologiesPrepare documentation and provide guidance or training to end users when requiredQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field1–3 years of hands-on experience in database administration, maintenance, and supportProven experience in database administration, maintenance, and troubleshootingHands-on experience with DBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or similar platformsProfessional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle DBA) are an advantageStrong knowledge of database architecture, systems, and softwareProficiency in SQL and procedural SQL languagesSolid understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operationsStrong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to multitask and prioritize workload effectivelyProblem-solving mindset, especially for complex database issuesHigh commitment to data accuracy, quality, and securityPowered by JazzHRvTT1KOo1LX
