Location: Cairo, Egypt (Design Extension Office for a Qatari Consultancy)Role Overview: We are seeking a high-caliber Lead HVAC Design Engineer with a minimum of 10-12 years of specialized experience in HVAC Systems design. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the entire HVAC department in our Cairo office, managing a team of engineers and BIM/CAD modelers, and ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of Qatari regulations.Key Responsibilities:• Department Leadership: Full management of the HVAC department, including workload distribution, mentoring junior engineers, and supervising draftsmen across all active projects.• Design Excellence: Overseeing the full design cycle from Concept and Preliminary stages to Detailed Design and IFC packages.• Technical Authority: Performing and reviewing complex thermal load calculations (HAP), duct sizing, piping layouts, and equipment selection (Chillers, AHUs, VRF, DX).• Quality Control: Conducting rigorous technical audits and QC checks on all drawings, schematics, and reports to ensure zero-discrepancy submissions.• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Leading coordination meetings with Architectural and Structural departments to resolve design conflicts at early stages.Technical Requirements & Qualifications:• Experience: 10–12 years of solid experience in HVAC Design within reputable MEP consultancy firms.• Regional Expertise: Strong preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record in Qatar-based projects.• Codes & Standards: Expert knowledge of international codes, specifically ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA.• Software Proficiency: Mastery of Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Carrier HAP is mandatory.Preferred Skills:• Previous experience in attending technical meetings or handling authority submittals (DC1/DC2 stages) for Qatar projects.• Strong command of English (Technical Writing and Verbal communication).• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple project portfolios simultaneously.• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of QCDD (Qatar Civil Defence Department) requirements, KAHRAMAA regulations, and QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications).
