Location: Cairo, Egypt (Design Extension Office for a Qatari Consultancy)Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Fighting & Plumbing Design Engineer with 7-10 years of experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a sub-team of junior engineers and draftsmen, working under the direct guidance of the Lead FF & PL Engineer. The role demands high technical proficiency in designing public health and fire protection systems for diverse Qatari projects.Key Responsibilities:• Team Supervision: Directing and mentoring a small team of junior designers, ensuring all assigned tasks are executed accurately and delivered on schedule.• Design Production: Developing comprehensive designs for Fire Suppression systems (Sprinklers, FHC, FM-200), Domestic Water, Drainage, and Stormwater systems.• Technical Support: Assisting the Lead Engineer in system selection, preparing technical reports, and providing guidance to the team on complex design issues.• Design Review: Conducting internal reviews of drawings and calculations (Hydraulic, Pump Head, Tank Sizing) produced by junior staff to maintain high quality and accuracy.• Technical Coordination: Executing rigorous technical coordination with Architectural, Structural, and other MEP disciplines to ensure seamless integration of piping networks and equipment placement.Technical Requirements & Qualifications:• Experience: 7–10 years of solid design experience in Fire Fighting and Plumbing, specifically within a consultancy firm environment.• Software Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of AutoCAD and Hydraulic Calculation software (Elite, Pipe-Flo, or similar) is mandatory.• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of plumbing fixtures, piping materials, pump configurations, and fire protection principles.• Codes & Standards: Comprehensive working knowledge of NFPA codes (10, 13, 14, 20) and International Plumbing Codes (IPC).Preferred Skills:• Qatar Experience: Previous experience in Qatar-based projects or familiarity with QCDD and KAHRAMAA technical standards.• Communication: Strong command of English to ensure clear communication with the Qatar-based management and local team.• Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve technical conflicts during the design stage independently.• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications) and local authority submission requirements.
