About the Job:The Local Content Lead is responsible for supporting the Local Content Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing vehicle component localization activities. The role ensures that localization workstreams are tracked, suppliers are followed up, technical and commercial data are consolidated, and cross-functional actions are closed on time to improve local content percentage, support AIDP compliance, and contribute to BOM cost optimization.Responsibilities:1. Localization Planning & Execution SupportBOM Review Support: Support the review of engineering Bill of Materials (BOM), IPL, SOR, and technical data to identify candidate parts for local sourcing and track localization scope changes.Feasibility Follow-up: Collect supplier quotations, tooling assumptions, technical feedback, and cost inputs to support feasibility studies, business cases, and payback analysis prepared by the manager.Program Coordination: Coordinate action plans with engineering, SQE, purchasing, supply chain, and OEM teams to ensure localization milestones, supplier nomination, tooling, OTS, PPAP, and SOP requirements are followed up and reported.2. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation SupportAIDP Data Preparation: Prepare and maintain local content calculation files, supplier declarations, local invoices, technical documents, and supporting evidence required for AIDP submissions.Government & Audit Support: Support internal reviews and external authority requirements by ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, traceable, and aligned with manager guidance and current regulations.3. Commercial, Supplier & Risk Follow-upCost Tracking: Track local vs. imported cost data, supplier quotations, tooling costs, price changes, and savings opportunities to support landed cost and BOM optimization decisions.Supplier Follow-up: Follow up with local suppliers on RFQs, samples, technical review actions, tooling readiness, OTS material, PPAP documents, and escalation points that may affect localization timing or supply continuity.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Localization Milestone Closure: Timely closure of assigned actions related to supplier nomination, RFQ, tooling, OTS, PPAP, and SOP readiness.Data Accuracy: Accuracy and completeness of BOM, local content calculation sheets, supplier data, quotations, and compliance documentation.Cost Saving Contribution: Contribution to identified and validated cost savings through local sourcing, price negotiation support, and import substitution initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree: Mechanical, Automotive, Production, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. Project management or supply chain certification is an advantage.Experience: 4–7 years of experience in automotive localization, CKD/SKD projects, direct purchasing, supplier development, SQE coordination, or manufacturing project follow-up.Automotive Manufacturing: Good understanding of vehicle assembly, CKD/SKD processes, local supplier capabilities, and automotive component manufacturing methods.BOM & Engineering Systems: Ability to read and track BOMs, engineering changes, drawings, SORs, ADVPs, and technical data; working knowledge of ERP/PLM systems is preferred.Commercial Analysis: Ability to prepare cost comparisons, quotation summaries, tooling trackers, price-change analysis, and localization progress reports.Coordination & Follow-up: Strong ability to follow up with suppliers and internal teams, escalate risks, prepare clear status updates, and maintain action trackers.Communication: Effective written and verbal communication with local suppliers, OEM partners, engineering, SQE, supply chain, and finance stakeholders.Languages: Native Arabic speaker with strong professional English for reporting, supplier communication, and OEM alignment.
