Maintenance Engineer

Role Objectives:The Maintenance Engineer supports the maintenance function by ensuring the reliable and safe operation of factory machinery and equipment. The role focuses on executing maintenance activities, supporting troubleshooting, and building strong technical capabilities across electrical and mechanical systems under the guidance of senior team members.Roles & Responsibilities:Execute preventive maintenance plans as scheduled.Perform routine inspections on: Mechanical components (motors, bearings, conveyors)Electrical systems (panels, wiring, sensors)Report early signs of wear, faults, or inefficiencies.Ensure proper housekeeping and equipment care standards.Assist in diagnosing and fixing faults in: Electrical systems (basic PLC issues, sensors, wiring)Mechanical systems (simple breakdowns, replacements, adjustments)Hydraulic & pneumatic systemsRespond to breakdowns in a timely manner under supervision.Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when needed.Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.Assist in minor modifications to improve machine performance.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines during maintenance work.Apply safe practices in high-risk activities (e.g., lockout/tagout).Report hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.Record maintenance activities, repairs, and downtime accurately.Update checklists and logs for completed tasks.Support data collection for analysis and reporting.Assist in tracking usage of spare parts.Report shortages or critical spare part requirements.Ensure proper handling and storage of components.Work closely with senior engineers and technicians on daily tasks.Actively learn troubleshooting techniques and system operations.Participate in on-the-job training and technical development.Required Education, Knowledge, And Skills:Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or MechatronicsBasic to intermediate knowledge of: Electrical systems (panels, sensors, basic PLC exposure)Mechanical systems (motors, conveyors, rotating equipment)Hydraulic & pneumatic systems (basic understanding)Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and mechanical drawingsSafety Awareness: Understanding of basic industrial safety practices1–3 years of experience in maintenance within FMCG, manufacturing, or production environments.Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, and hydraulic & pneumatic systems.Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.Understanding of basic industrial safety practices.
