Mechanical Supervisor Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009, and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialized mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements. The Role We are seeking a seasoned, results-driven Mechanical Construction Supervisor with 10+ years of dedicated heavy industrial construction experience (Mining, Oil & Gas, or Infrastructure/Petrochemical fields). This role focuses entirely on capital construction projects—from structural steel erection and heavy equipment rigging to piping fabrication, coating integrity, and mechanical completion. The successful candidate will lead field execution, coordinate multi-disciplinary sub-contractors, and ensure that all mechanical installations strictly adhere to engineering designs, project schedules, quality codes, and international standards. Location: On-site in Marsa AlamContract Type: Permanent, full-timeSchedule: 20/10 working rosterCompensation: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package The Key Responsibilities: Construction Execution & Field Supervision: Field Directing: Supervise, coordinate, and drive the daily field activities of mechanical crews, pipefitters, riggers, structural welders, and coating technicians.Installation Oversight:Direct the mechanical assembly, lifting, positioning, and alignment of heavy industrial assets, including: Equipment installation: Pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pumps, and structural skids.Piping & Structural: Oversee structural steel erection and the fit-up, welding, and installation of large-bore and small-bore piping networks.Progress Tracking:Monitor daily construction progress against the project schedule (Gantt charts) and implement recovery plans for any field delays. Technical Code Compliance & QA/QC Oversight:Engineering Standards: Ensure all fabrication and installation work strictly complies with international engineering codes and project specifications, specifically ASME B31.3 (Process Piping), ASME Section VIII (Pressure Vessels), ANSI dimensional standards, AWS D1.1 (Structural Welding), and relevant API standards.Welding & NDT Coordination: Oversee field welding operations, ensuring adherence to qualified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) workflows (RT, UT, MT, PT) and conduct visual inspections of completed welds.Painting & Coating Integrity: Monitor surface preparation (blasting profiles) and industrial coating applications to ensure compliance with project specifications and anti-corrosion standards.Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering packages, including Isometric drawings, P&IDs, Structural Steel layouts, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings. Rigging, Lifting & Material Coordination:Lifting Plans: Review and approve critical rigging and lifting plans for positioning heavy or complex mechanical modules, ensuring compliance with site safety margins.Material Management: Coordinate with the warehouse team to inspect, verify, and receive bulk mechanical materials, piping spools, and valves to ensure zero delays in field execution. Pre-Commissioning & Mechanical Completion: Punch Listing: Walk down completed mechanical systems to generate and systematically clear "punch list" items prior to handover.Mechanical Completion: Compile QA/QC documentation, test packs (including piping hydro-testing and pneumatic testing), and equipment alignment sheets to secure the Mechanical Completion (MC) certificate.Pre-Commissioning Support: Assist the commissioning team during initial equipment dry-runs, functional checks, and rotational direction tests. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)Safety Enforcement: Enforce strict adherence to project site safety rules. Conduct daily Tool-Box Talks (TBT) and review Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for high-risk activities like heavy lifts, hot work, and working at heights.
