Sleipner Operator Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements. The Role The Sleipner Operator is responsible for operating the Sleipner DB130 transport system to safely and efficiently move heavy tracked vehicles around the mining operation in strict alignment with production and maintenance plans. Additionally, this role involves operating ancillary support service equipment used by the department to assist overall site maintenance activities Location: On-site in Marsa AlamContract Type: Permanent, full-timeSchedule: 20/10 working rosterCompensation: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package The Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation & LogisticsHeavy Vehicle Transport: Operate the Sleipner DB130 transport system according to established operational standards and practices to relocate heavy machinery across the site.Ancillary Fleet Operation: Competently operate tracked heavy equipment within the ancillary section, specifically focusing on tracked dozers and small excavators.Strategic Equipment Relocation: Perform calculated, controlled movements of tracked dozers and excavators outside of the designated open-pit blast radius before and after daily blasting windows.Plan Alignment: Execute scheduled equipment moves in direct compliance with the daily/weekly maintenance planning schedule and the mining team's blasting plan. Safety & ComplianceSite Safety Standards: Rigidly adhere to all site-related safety standards, operational protocols, and procedures.Mobile Equipment Compliance: Maintain a deep understanding of and total adherence to safety requirements specific to the operation of heavy mobile machinery and Sleipner systems. Reporting, Planning & CoordinationDaily Inspections: Perform comprehensive daily prestart checks on the assigned machinery.Data Logging: Complete and update daily movement logs detailing every machine relocated across the site.Defect Escalation: Report equipment faults, operational issues, or mechanical concerns immediately to the maintenance workshop or the relevant supervisor.Cross-Departmental Coordination: Provide operational input into the development of the weekly plan. Closely analyze the daily blast schedule and coordinate directly with the mining operations team to ensure all tracked equipment is cleared from the blast zone efficiently.Job Context & BoundariesWork within established company guidelines, operational processes, corporate policies, and specified timeframes.Receive primary operational direction from the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent.Attend and actively participate in weekly planning processes and mine planning meetings to guarantee accurate scheduling of equipment movements.Qualifications, Experience & SkillsValid Heavy Vehicle (HV) License and HV Operator License.Formal Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Qualification.Ability to secure all required Site-Specific Inductions, Safety Training, Mining Permits, and Operating Permits.5+ years of experience operating heavy vehicles.
