Operational Risk Manager

The Operational Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing operational risks within the MSME lending framework. This role requires a strategic mindset to align risk management practices with business objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities Risk Identification and Assessment Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential operational risks. Collaborate with various departments to evaluate existing risk management processes. Gap Assessment and RCSA Perform gap assessments to identify areas where current practices do not meet regulatory or internal risk management standards. Oversee the implementation of Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) processes to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls. Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to gather insights and validate findings from RCSA exercises. Periodic Stress Testing Organize and lead periodic stress testing meetings to evaluate Fawry MSME resilience to adverse conditions. Develop and implement stress testing scenarios that reflect potential operational and financial crises relevant to the MSME lending environment. Analyze outcomes of stress tests and provide actionable insights for risk mitigation. Risk Mitigation Strategies Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls. Monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and recommend improvements. Reporting and Analysis Prepare detailed reports on operational risks and incidents for senior management. Analyze trends in operational risk data and provide insights for decision-making. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements related to operational risk management. Liaise with regulatory bodies during audits and examinations. Training and Awareness Organize training sessions for staff to promote awareness of operational risks. Foster a risk-aware culture within the organization. Crisis Management Develop and maintain business continuity plans and crisis management procedures. Lead responses to operational risk incidents and ensure effective resolution. Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CRM) is preferred. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational risk management, preferably within the financial services or lending sector. Proven experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies. With proven experience in managing teams Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools.
