Planning CoordinatorSukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialized mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements. The RoleThe Planning Coordinator is responsible developing, updating, and tracking comprehensive, Projects schedules for (CAPEX) Portfolio within the gold mine. Based in the Projects Department, this role focuses on the detailed planning and tracking of all projects. The coordinator ensures all field execution data, critical path schedules, and logistics tracking are accurately maintained to support safe, cost-effective project delivery and minimize site interface risks. Location: On-site in Marsa AlamContract Type: Permanent, full-timeSchedule: 40/20 working rosterCompensation: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package The Key ResponsibilitiesProject Scheduling & Critical Path AnalysisDevelop, update, and maintain integrated project master schedules using software like Primavera P6 or MS Project.Identify the project critical path, monitor schedule variances, and proactively model "what-if" scenarios to mitigate potential delays.Resource & Material CoordinationEstimate and allocate labor hours, specialized tooling, cranes, and contractor resources across multiple active mining projects.Partner with the Procurement and Logistics teams to track long-lead equipment fabrication and delivery statuses to ensure on-site readiness.Break down complex engineering drawings into sequential work packs, detailed bills of materials (BOM), and step-by-step field tasks.Progress Tracking & Performance ReportingCollect daily and weekly progress updates from Project Supervisors and contractors to update project health metrics (Earned Value Management).Generate clear project dashboards highlighting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), schedule compliance, and resource burn rates.Highlight schedule risks to project leadership early, along with proposed recovery plans or acceleration strategies.Change Management & CloseoutAssess the schedule and resource impacts of engineering change orders, updating the project baseline accordingly.Facilitate post-project reviews to archive accurate "as-built" project data, lessons learned, and final closeout documentation.The Requirements:Experience & Education:Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. Professional planning certifications (e.g., AACE, PMI-SP) are highly regarded.Experience: 10+ years of projects construction planning or scheduling experience in heavy industrial sectors, with a strong preference for mining, mineral processing, or major capital expansion environments.Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Strong capability in reading engineering blueprints, P&IDs, and structural layouts. Certification in project management (PMP or equivalent), Cost Engineering (CCE/CCP), or Financial Analysis (CFA/MBA) is an added advantage. Proven track record in managing, forecasting, and controlling complex multi-million-dollar project portfolios (budgets >$100M). • Expertise in financial modelling, cost engineering, work breakdown structures (WBS), and earned value management (EVM). Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including data modelling, DAX formulas, and visualization design. Provide reports/metrics including Critical Path, Earned Value, S-Curves, EAC variance, Critical milestones movement, KPIs & Labor and Equipment forecasts. Familiarity with construction sequencing, milestones, and resource allocationCommunication: Confident communicating clear rules to fast-moving engineering and field teams.Organization: Capable of handling massive volumes of data across multiple mine sections.Problem-Solving: Proactive in chasing down delayed approvals or unresolved technical queries.
